Yaoziyu Natural Village, built in the 20th year of Emperor Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, is made of square city walls and square stones. The castle has an arch south gate, which was a military stronghold to defend against the Great Wall. Now it is the only well-preserved castle at the foot of the Great Wall in Beijing.

The Huanghuacheng Great Wall is also known as the Great Wall under the Water, because three separate sections of the wall are submerged in the Xishuiyu Reservoir. You may overlooking the entire Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall Scenic Area by climbing a Wild Great Wall beginning from the Yaoziyu Castle.
Pass through the thorny jungle and the ruins of the Great Wall, reach the Daokou Pass. You may choose to continue climbing to reach the Huanghuacheng Reservoir, or return to Erdaoguan Village along the highway. The whole journey is about 8 kilometers, and the cumulative rise and fall is less than 400 meters.
